From Business Concepts to Application

BizCafe helps students connect core business concepts through one integrated business experience. Students make decisions, analyze results, and adjust their approach over time. The purpose of BizCafe is to allow students to experience some of the issues in running a business before their paycheck depends on it.
As the simulation progresses, students learn to make a good plan, coordinate their management, marketing, and operations decisions, analyze results, and make adjustments.

A Relatable Service-Based Business

BizCafe uses the context of a local coffee shop to introduce students to the key functional areas of a business at a basic level. Because the environment is familiar, students can focus on business terminology, decision-making, and the connections among different parts of the business.

Designed for Introductory Business Courses

BizCafe is commonly used in courses such as:

  • Introduction to Business
  • Business Essentials
  • Small Business Management
  • Principles of Management

What’s New in BizCafe v5

BizCafe v5 expands the simulation to reflect how real businesses operate today. Students are not only managing pricing, staffing, and operations, but also thinking about sustainability, community impact, and employee satisfaction. The update also improves the interface and adds more realistic economic scenarios, making the experience clearer for students and more flexible for instructors.

Sample schedules and sample syllabi provide guidance on including the simulation in a course.
