Interpretive Business Simulations

Thank you for your interest in our International Business and Marketing Simulations!

CountryManager and Corporation Simulations

Business simulations show students how the knowledge they’ve learned applies to a real business. Students gain a practical understanding of what it takes to run a successful international business department, but they also learn how the concepts they’ve experienced in your class will apply in their future career.
Our International Marketing and Business simulations complement traditional teaching methods, with numerous additional resources to make their experience well-rounded. Think of it as a simulated internship! All of our simulations start with a case the defines the environment and scenario. Students will encounter a business with REAL products from the real world. As they progress in the simulation, their decisions will have ramifications on the performance of their business. Their strategy for success will be tested, but along the way they will learn how the basic principles of business apply, regardless of the industry.
Instructors and students consistently report that using simulations greatly complements the objectives of their course and provides real experience with marketing concepts!

WHAT IS DIFFERENT BETWEEN THESE SIMULATIONS?

CountryManager explores the modes of market entry, segmentation, and targeting, manufacturing, and distribution in an international context. This simulation provides valuable experience for students who wish to explore the launch of a product into a new market. We have two scenarios available for two different regions, Latin America or Asia. The simulation also contains optional mini-cases that cover currency issue, economic crisis, environmental, and social responsibility topics.
Corporation is a multiple business unit simulation based on a company that provides products and services in the information systems industry. This industry is typical of many post-industrial age businesses in that it operates without traditional production functions. The simulation focuses on operating one or more strategic business units or divisions that can be bought and sold on the open market or swapped in privately negotiated deals. Operations, marketing, and HR decisions are made for each SBU, as well as for corporate resource acquisition and deployment, each period. Each decision may be accompanied by a management incident that focuses on various stakeholders of the firm. The 12 incidents or mini-cases cover various ethical, social, supply chain, HR, and marketing topics.
